All consumers – that’s you and me for starters – constantly strive to find the best possible compromise between price and quality. Whether you’re shopping for a new television, hi-fi or van, it is always best to do so with the latest price list and specification sheet side-by-side.

Sensible though it is, the problem with this approach is how do you find this crucial data in the first place? You could go straight to each manufacturer, but unless you are prepared to do lots of digging, the facts and figures could overwhelm you.

Van dealers may well have all the stats you need to make sensible, well-reasoned judgment about your next purchase. But you couldn’t trust a Ford dealer to be wholly objective about his Vauxhall competitor, could you?

Putting your faith in experts with an axe to grind is never sensible.

The key is objectivity. CompareAllVans.com has no vested interest in sales figures or promoting certain manufacturers; it simply provides accurate van data so you can compare van specs and prices online at your leisure, rather than having to traipse from showroom to showroom, from corporate website to corporate website.

Ultimately, when buying a new van the final decision is yours and yours alone. The process is complicated enough without sales patter getting in the way.

This week Nissan announced that it’s bolstering its Juke crossover (that’s a cross between a hatchback and an SUV) range with the addition of a cleaner, more efficient diesel engine.

The new engine boasts CO2 emissions of 109g/km – an improvement of 15g/km over the previous model – as well as advances in fuel economy and maximum torque. It is difficult to argue that the new-and-improved Juke deserves your attention assuming you are in the market for a new vehicle.

If only it was that simple.

The reality is that there are many factors to consider when buying a new car, and the quest to compare car prices (not to mention specifications and the dreaded ‘options list’) can be confusing, especially if you don’t know where to look.

Luckily, CompareAllCars.com is on hand to help you compare car specs using the most up-to-date information available.

Ultimately, whether you’re looking for a new car based on how kind it is to the environment or how quickly it will go from 0-60, the most important thing is to compare all your options thoroughly. To part with your hard-earned cash without proper research is foolish and dangerous.

You may have heard the news that Volkswagen is adding £700 worth of extras to the standard specification of its Crafter van range.

That sounds like a great deal from VW, which is, in case you didn’t know, the owner of Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini as well as Audi, Skoda and Seat.

The addition of £700 worth of extras might actually serve to confuse you unless you had a reliable source of van data to check out this deal against its competitors.

On the face of it, it’s a great ‘free’ addition but it might be that the freebies are merely raising the Crafter’s specification to benchmark levels.

You can check out the facts, and whether you’re getting a good deal or not, by making a van price comparison at CompareAllVans.com

The van market is in a state of flux at the moment so whether you go for the VW Crafter or not, make sure you haggle hard with the dealer. Believe me, right now, his need to sell is far greater than your need to buy.

While it is always true that the value remains long after the price is forgotten, the price – especially for a new car – is key.

I want a Maserati. Also a Porsche and a Bentley. I’d also quite like a Land Rover Defender. But I can afford none of these and will buy, I am fairly certain, a Fiat Panda 4×4 instead which will do everything I want and bring me much joy.

Dreams aside, when searching for a new car you do need to have access – easy access – to the latest new car prices and new car data.

If you’re a motor trader, or a web developer with motor trade clients, your customers need easy access to this most crucial of information. If you don’t have it, they’ll go to another site to find it and you’ll have lost them forever.

Accurate new car price and specification information for your site is available from a variety of sources. DrivenData, for example.

But don’t just choose us on the basis of this blog – check out our data here: www.CompareAllCars.com.

And if you’re a business which needs this sort of information, you’ll find our prices startling for their realistic level. You’ll like the value as well.

The simple answer is to go to a reliable source and make an enquiry. But you know that already.

The real question is where is the best place to find accurate van specification comparisons and equally accurate van price comparisons?

Now it would be pointless and foolish to say that we know of any better place than DrivenData and our own vehicle comparison sites: CompareAllVans.com and CompareAllCars.com.

It would be pointless because we believe that our own sites are the best, easiest and most accurate places to make these enquiries and for you to be assured that the answers you seek are there.

It would be foolish because while we are charming and kind people, we are keen for you to use our data and not go elsewhere.

The new vehicle market is glitzy, glamorous and very, very shiny. It is easy to be seduced into believing everything a salesman tells you. But with accurate facts at your fingertips, you will not be so easy to bamboozle.

So be careful – there are sharks in these waters who do not have your interests at heart.

Other than an open razor, there is nothing quite so cut-throat as the light commercial vehicle (aka van) market.

Finding accurate information about prices and specifications, let alone making accurate van price and van specification comparisons, is an activity fraught with danger.

For a good van you are always better off buying new. Why? Because, when compared against price, reliability wins out every time. And a van’s reliability is a gamble you might not wish to take.

Vans are mostly – not always – driven by young men with way too much testosterone for their own good. It is rare to see a van driven slowly and rare not to hear its engine screaming gallantly, and viably, as the driver seeks to get that speed up to 77mph from the indicated 75.

With interest rates at record low levels, and manufacturers and dealers alike eager to sell – don’t take the risk with an overpriced gamble, buy something new, reliable and guaranteed.

You can check out the whole market on www.compareallvans.com.

So, you want a new car, do you? Many – should that be most? – of us do. New cars are probably the most giving of new acquisitions. They give pleasure, joy, freedom and are also remarkably utilitarian and efficient in moving us, our possessions and impedimenta about. They are also cheaper to use than trains.

In fact the only thing that stops us buying new cars every month are new car prices.

New car prices are lower than a new house but higher than just about everything else and to change your car monthly, you will need eye-wateringly large amounts of money.

As a real-life buyer you must keep your wits about you at all times because the motor trade is not known for being anything less than shark-like when it comes to separating you from your cash.

For a start you need an accurate source of new car prices, specifications and data. You also need an easy-to-use and functional new car price comparator to make sense of the reams of information available from manufacturers and dealers alike.

Every day prices, specifications and models change. On Car and Van News you can see all the latest news about these changes. On Compare All Cars you can carry out endless comparisons on everything from a McLaren to a Bentley to an Aston to a Ferrari. Or you can leave the land of make-believe and look for something cheaper and more practical.

And who knows, as you scoot happily along in your brand-new Ford Focus, what the future holds.

Mind you, if it’s the Lottery about which you’re dreaming, you’ll need to buy a ticket first…

What are the two biggest areas of expenditure for most folk? Cars and houses.

And yet, when it comes the purchase of either or both, reason and logic often fly out of the window, to be replaced with emotions and what many humans call ‘feelings’.

Mr Spock, currently starring in ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ would not have understood this at all. For him a graph with reliability on one axis against price on the other would have shown, very clearly, that a particular car combined optimum price with optimum reliability. He would probably choose a Dacia.

New cars change their prices and specifications with the same regularity that most of us change our socks.

The Driven Data new car data (and new van data) are an accurate and up-to-speed way of checking on how prices change. Using the data it is possible to make accurate new car price data comparisons to assist the choice process and check all new car specs.

But you won’t be surprised to learn that inflation in this area, as in most others, is stable only in so far as it never moves down, only up.

Each month Driven Data publishes its New Car Price Index, which demonstrates how the market moves.

But when spending a large amount of money practical logic is not always the best rule to follow. Driving remains a source of freedom and pleasure so the best advice is to buy as good a car as you can afford and haggle for the best possible deal. That’s the way to get the best new car price – and right now in 2013 it’s a buyer’s market.
